REME 1940 Pattern Battle Dress Blouse

This is a unit badged 1940 pattern battle dress blouse belonging to Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers ( REME ) with the divisional shield of GHQ Middle East. The Divisional shield is of the 1946 pattern who's command territories included Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, Sudan, Aden, British Somaliland, Iraq, the Persian Gulf, East Africa, Crete and Greece. The battle dress also has a brass trade badge of a hamer and pincers which would come and group "D" trades. The BD has been tailored to the shoulders is date 1945, manufactured by the "Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd" and is size stamped 13. The BD also has the letter date code "Z" for 1945.
