German Life Guards Cased Stick Pin

This is a Third Reich era cased stick pin, which was worn by life guards who have completed a basic level qualification certificate. The been is embossed with the word "GRUNDSCHEIN. DLRG" ( Deutsche Lebensrettungesgesellschaft ) which means German Life Saving Association. The Life saving association was founded in 1913 and is still extremely active today.
