Turkistan Sleeve Insignia 2nd Pattern
This is a good example of the 2nd pattern bevo arm shield worn by members of the Turkistan Legion, which was formed in the spring of 1942. The unit was part of the 162nd Infantry Division which saw extensive action in Yugoslavia and Italy. The shield has a red and blue horizontal stripes bordered in black with a black field on top. The centre of the shield has a white bow and arrow with a blue inscription "Turkistan". The Turkistan Legion was also known as the "Turkoman Division".
