Demjansk Shield

A good example of a Demjansk shield with fieldgrey cloth and retaining it's paper backing. However one of the four retaining pins has broke away. The award was introduced on 25th April 1943, to commemorate the defence of the town of Demjansk by the Second army, which was commanded by General Graf Brockendorff-Ahlefeldt.
