U.S. M1943 Entrenching tool & M1956 Carrier

This is a M1943 entrenching tool, which entered U.S. Service in 1944 replacing the M1910 entrenching tool. The M1943 entrenching tool remained in use with the U.S. Military to 1970 when it was finally replaced with the Light-Weight entrenching tool. This example comes with the M1956 carrier, which has a faint contract stamp.
