U.S. Army Runway Lantern

This is a rare unissued boxed U.S. Army runway lantern produced by Delta Electric Company, Marion, Indiana. This type of lantern with top and side lights, where supplied by the allies to the French Resistance for use on secret landing sites allowing allied pilots to land and supply the resistance or drop off SOE/OSS agents. We only have two in stock both are dated March 1943 and stamped "U.S.". The civilian issue examples, which are quite common are not painted green or stamped "U.S.".
