U.S. Army High Neck Sweater

The high neck sweater was designed as part of the M1943 uniform. This example is in mint unissued condition. However it is post-war made and the date of manufacture is 1st December 1950. The contract label gives the name of the maker as "Max Lowenthal & Son". It is size marked "Small", however it is still quite large and will fit someone of a medium build. The sweater is identical to the wartime produced versions, the only difference is the date of manufacture. Original wartime and 1950's dated army issue highneck sweaters are extremely rare as they where extremely popular items. They tended to be kept by the original owners and would wear them in civilian life once they had left the service.
