French M15 Souvenir Helmet
This is a French M15 helmet which was given to WW1 French army veterans who saw action during the Great War. The brass plate with the inscription "Soldat De La Grande Guerre 1914-1918" ( Solder of the Great War ) has been riveted to the visor. The shell retains over 80% of it's original blue paint, the liner is partially remaining and the helmet is missing it's chinstrap. The badge with the flaming bomb and crossed cannons identifies the helmet belonged to the artillery branch of service. The letters "RF" stands for "Republic of France".
