U.S. Tropical Trousers

Tropical rip-stop issue trousers which are size marked 31 to 35 inch waist and a 32 inch leg. The trousers have had the fly-buttons replaced with a period zipper . They retain their contract label which dates the trousers to 1969 and the maker's name "M.L.W.CO". The trousers also have the soldier's personal metal ID disc tacked to the hip pocket. The left thigh pocket is also marked with two yellow letters "M I P". However we i have no ideal what it signifies.
