U.S. Army Air Force M1917 Tunic

This is a M1917 tunic which has the branch insignia of the army air force. The tunic also has the unit badge of the 71st Aero Squadron, which was formed in February 1918 as instruction flying squadron, re-designated in July 1918 to Squadron A and based at Love Field Texas. The Squadron was demobilised in November 1918. The tunic retains contract label which gives the name of the manufacturer as "HENRY SONNEBORN & CO. INC" and the date of production 12th April 1917. The tunic has suffered with some very minor moth nips.
