U.S. SBR Gas Mask & Haversack

This is a U.S. gas mask which dates to mid 1918 and is based on the British Small Box Respirator or "SBR". The Americans called their gas mask, The American corrected English box respirator and is very similar to the British pattern with slight differences to the bag and gas mask. This example's hose has dried and come apart. The mask is also become quite dry. The American gas mask tended to come with a service/instruction card, which is missing.
