British Home Defence Zuckerman Helmet ( Fire Guard )

This is a civilian protective helmet more commonly known as the Zuckerman helmet named after the South African born government scientist who designed the helmet "Solly Zuckerman. The helmet could be brought by civilians for five shillings ( 25 pence ). This example is in excellent condition and the front is stencilled with the letters "FG" for Fire Guard.
