U.S. M1943 Field Jacket

The M1943 field jacket is part of the M1943 field uniform which consisted of the jacket, separate hood and trousers. The M1943 uniform was first evaluated by units of the 3rd Infantry Division on the Anzio beachhead in 1943. The M1943 uniform started to get issued in large quantities in late 1944. This example has had a field repair to its back. Besides the field repair it is in very good condition with the printed clearing instructions still visible. Most examples tend to be washed out. The contract label is still attached, however the details have been washed out. It also retains one of the Sergeant chevrons on the right sleeve. The outline unit patch and the Sergeant chevron is visible on the left sleeve. This example also retains its size label 36 regular
