U.S. M1910 Water Bottle Set

This is a M1910 water bottle set which the cup and water bottle are both dated 1918. The water bottle is maker marked J.W.B.M.CO and the cup is maker marked AGM.CO. The water bottle has been half painted red, however i do not no what the significance of the paint is for. The pouch is a faint makers stamp and is dated 1917. The base of the water bottle pouch is stamped with the original owners personal service number.
