U.S. M1918 Bayonet

This is in fact a M1917 pattern bayonet which is a Remington factory error, making this a very scarce item. Remington stamped the ricasso with the production date 1918 instead of the pattern date of 1917. Once Remington discovered the error it was immediately corrected by removing the number 8. A very small number of M1917 bayonets with the pattern date of 1918 where produced, making them extremely scarce as the majority had the number 8 removed. This bayonet is one of the corrected examples with the number 8 removed. However it still faintly visible. The scabbard comes with the M1910 wire belt attachment. Age Restricted item.
