U.S. M1 Distinctive Helmet Liner

Helmet liners where often worn without the steel helmet and became distinctive uniform items. This example has the insignia of the 392nd Infantry Regiment with the motto "PACE ET BELLO PARATUS" in latin ( In Peace and in War ) and of the 982nd Infantry Division ( Indian Chief ). The liner is maker marked "CAPAC", the neckband is dated 1967. The sweatband is dated 1969.
