British MKII Home Defence Helmet
This is a black painted MKII helmet used by various home defence organisations. The shell is dated 1939 and the liner is dated 1940 and maker marked "J.C.S & W.LTD" for J.Crompton Sons & Webb. The leather crown pad has come away.
