Japanese Type 3 Heavy Machine Gun & Tripod ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )
For sale to customers outside the European Union only. The Type 3 heavy machine gun was designed by General Kijiro Nambu in 1914 and was based on the French model 1900 Hotchkiss which the Japanese used in great effect during the Russian-Japanese war of 1904 to 1905. It remained in production to 1932 but continued to be used by the imperial Japanese army to 1945. This example is a Chilean export contract which Chile received in the 1920's and gave it the designation Model 20. The majority of Chilean examples tend to have French made barrels in 7mm. This example retains the Japanese barrel in 6.5mm. It was produced in the Kokura Arsenal identified by the three interlocking rings stamped on the receiver. This example comes with its Japanese made tripod, retaining its original Japanese finish. However it is missing its spindle locking lug and the screw in lever for the tripod's elevation gear. It does have the rear carrying handle bars which bolt to the rear of the tripod. It also comes with a Japanese army marked wooden finder tray ammunition box which retains its webbing carrying handle. It also has two feeder trays one early brass and and one later steel both in their original cardboard sleeves. There are also 7 empty feeder tray sleeves included. An extremely rare collectors piece. For Non EU Sales Only. However can be re-deactivated to the current EU specification. Please email before making purchase.
