U.S. M1 Thompson

This is a current EU/UK deactivated M1 Thompson submachine gun, which was introduced in 1942 due to the United States need to re-arm and supply its allies with war aid. The M1928 Thompson was deemed too long to produce and re-designed resulting with the M1, which was more suited for mass production. This example is an early production model which does not have the rear sight wing protectors. It does not cock or dry fire, however the cocking handle and trigger do move. It is maker marked "Auto-Ordnance". The M1 remained in production to 1945 and continue to see service with the U.S. militaria during the Korean War.
