Spanish M26 Helmet

The M26 helmet was manufactured at the National Arsenal of Artillery in Trubia. The helmet is commonly referred to as a "Con ala" which translates to "With Wings" due to its flared sides. The helmet was issued in 1930 and was a common sight on the battlefields during the Spanish civil war. In 1943 the helmets where withdrawn from Spanish army service and refurbished, they where overpainted green and the liners replaced and re-issued, which is the case with this example. However traces of the original grey finish is visible.
