Indian 7.62 . 2A1 Rifle ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only The 7.62. 2 A1 rifle was introduced in the early 1960's and is a basically an updated version of the classic No1 MKIII SMLE ( Short Magazine Lee-Enfield ). The main differences is the calibre 7.62mm instead of the .303. The butt plate is a copy of the L1A1 self-loading rifle and the magazine is more square in shape and has higher loading capacity 12 rounds instead of 10 rounds. This example was manufactured at the Rifle Factory Ishapore and is in very good condition, has a matching numbered bolt and receiver and dated 1965. The rifle appears to have been used or supplied to the South African Army as the butt is stamped "SA". Certainly a very interesting variation of the a classic rifle and a must for any SMLE collector.
