U.S. 1st Pattern M1941 Field Jacket

This is a 1st pattern M1941 field jacket which was officially adopted 7th October 1940 and remained in production to May 1941 when it was replaced with the 2nd pattern M1941 field jacket, which differed by have buttoned epaulettes and slash front packets without flaps. This example has had a minor field repair to the colllar, otherwise it is in excellent condition with all its buttons and a working Talon marked zipper. It has the divisional insignia of the 2nd Infantry Division, which landed on Omaha beach on 7th June ( D+1 ) and saw action in the Normandy Campaign, Germany and Czecholsovakia. It has the rank insignia of a Technical Sergeant grade 3.
