U.S. Pile Field Jacket

This is artificial fur ( Pile ) field jacket which was designed to be worn under the M1943 field uniform and Parka. It was not meant to be worn own its own, except for indoors. However this was not always the case. This example is in excellent condition, however it is post-war made, dated 15th February 1949. The contract label also gives the name of the manufacturer "Sigmund Eiser" and the size 34R ( Regular ). However the pile field jacket was made to be two sizes larger as it was designed to be worn over the flannel shirt and sweater.
