U.S. M1943 Field Cap

The M1943 field cap was introduced in August 1943 and was part of the new M1943 field uniform. The M1943 field cap was designed to replace all other caps and the sweatband could unfold to cover the ears for winter. Late-war examples introduced in February 1945 did away with the ventilation grommets. This example is in very good condition and retains instruction and contract labels. However all details on the contract label have been washed out. The cap is approximately a size 7.1/4.
