British MKIII Helmet & Camouflage Netting

The MKIII helmet was first developed by the medical research council in 1941 on behalf of the British army. The MKIII was first worn in combat by British and Canadian troops on Operation Overlord 6th June 1944 ( D-Day ). The helmet is commonly referred to as the turtle shell due to its resemblance to the animal. This example is in excellent condition retaining its original smooth green finish the shell is dated 1944 and is maker marked, however i am not sure who the manufacture is . The shell has also been painted on the inside with the size 7. The MKII lining is not maker marked or dated but is also size stamped 7. The helmet comes with a period helmet net.
