British No1 MKIII SMLE Rifle ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )

For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. This is a BSA ( Birmingham Small Arms ) made No1 MKIII Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle, more commonly referred to as the SMLE. This example is a commercial model which is never dated. The wooden wings around the rear sight have been removed which was a common practice as these tended to fracture with excessive firing. Commercial models where identical to the military issue and where brought by private individuals and officers.This example has the original owners initials "S.R.G" above the BSA marking. The rifle also also been converted to a drill purpose as it is stamped "DP". The hole on the top of the receiver indicates the rifle was originally deacativated by the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers ( REME ). Probably for Cadet use. For Non EU Sales Only.
