Royal Engineers 40 BD Blouse & G.S. Beret

A 40 pattern BD blouse belonging to a Sergeant of the Royal Engineers attached to the 46 Infantry Division, which had the solid Sherwood Forest Oak tree as its insignia which signifies Strength & Stability. The BD is in excellent condition retaining its contract label which gives the name of the firm which produced the BD as W.R. Mcbride & Co. This example is dated October 1943 and size stamped 9. It comes with a General Service beret, which was introduced in September 1943 as a wartime measure to replace the G.S. side cap. It comes with a Royal Engineers cap badge size stamed 7.1/8, maker marked 'A.J.Gelfer" and dated 1945. Unfortunately the previous owner/collector put his name and phone number in the BD and G.S. beret. ( I cried ).
