U.S. Air Force LPU-10/P Life Presever

This is a LPU-10/P life preserver which was designed to be worn under the parachute and not to cause movement restriction. The LPU-10/P was first introduced in the late 1960's and was worn by U.S. Air force and Navy pilots during the Vietnam War. This example is Post-Vietnam and is dated 1982. It retains its DLA ( Defence Logistics Agency ) contract label, which also gives the name of the manufacturer " Engle Aviation-Marine Products Inc. The flotation bladders have been removed. However it comes with a 1988 dated strobe light and pouch. The DLA code was used from 1978 to 1993.
