British Home Defence MKII Helmet
This is a Home Defence issue MKII helmet which is painted black. The helmet shell is dated 1941 and is maker marked RO&CO for Rubery Owens & Co. The shell is in nice untouched condition. The MKII liner is size stamped 7.1/4 and dated 1940 and maker marked TTC for Teddy Toy Company, who produced helmet liners from 1939 to 1942. Home defence helmets had holes punched into the rim which indicated the shell was made of a lesser quality metal and was not to be issued to Army.
