U.S. M1 Helmet & Marine Corps Camouflage Cover
A very nice example of a M1 swivel bale front seamed helmet retaining nearly all of its original finish This example has the stainless steel rim which gives the production date between October 1943 to October 1944. However i believe this example may have actually been produced in October 1943 as it has the early black painted brass buckle with the raised bar feature which was discontinued in October 1943. The helmet also has a nice clear heat number. The liner is also in excellent condition and is stamped with the letter faint letter 'F" within a shield which identifies the maker as Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. The helmet comes with a first pattern Marine Corps reversible camouflage cover. However this example has been post-war used as it as the Marine Corps symbol of a globe and anchor which was only applied after 1945.
