British MKIV Gas Mask & Contents

This is MKIV gas mask which was introduced in 1926. This example is in excellent condition and was manufactured on 20/11/1934 with the WD acceptance date 21/05/1935. The filter is dated 04/05/1934. Later examples have a black rubber lining, where early examples such this one has orange/red rubber lining. The haversack is also in excellent condition and contains a lens dimmer which is dated November 1937 and an anti-gas ointment jar.
