Austrian MP34 SMG ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )
For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The MP34 is often mistaken as a German made submachine gun but is in fact either Swiss or Austrian made. The MP34 was designed by a German engineer but the manufacturing was first undertaken by the Swiss firm based at Solothurn who was owned by the German firm Rheinische Metallwaaren und Maschinenfabrik based in Dusseldorf Germany. The MP34 was also produced in Austria by Osterreichische Waffenfabrik-Gesellschfat at Steyr and the weapon is sometimes referred to as the Steyr-Solothurn after the Austrian and Swiss towns where the weapon was manufactured. All of the Austrian made MP34's where taken into Wehrmacht service after the 1938 German annexation of Austria. However the vast majority where sold to Portugal by Germany in 1942. This examples would be stamped with the Portuguese crest and the date of the contract which is not the date of manufacture. This example is one of the Portuguese contracts, however it is a very early production model as it has a very low serial number "91", which means it was produced in 1930 and would have originally been designated the S1-100 Steyr-Solothurn and matching numbers. Making this example extremely rare. It does not have waffenampts which is expected for examples produced before the German annexation of Austria in 1938. It's a pre-1995 deactivation with a full working action. For Non EU Sales Only. However can be re-deactivated to the current EU specifiction Please email before making purchase.
