Portuguese FBP M48 SMG ( Pre-EU/UK Deactivation )
For sale to customers outside the European Union. The M48 was designed by Major Francisco Goncalves Cardoso an Artillery officer of the Portuguese armed forces. His design was influenced by three WW2 era submachine guns which are clearly visible in the weapons appearance. It has the bolt and telescopic spring of an German MP40. The actual M48 bolt fits into a MP40. It also has a barrel nut of an later-war MP40. The magazine housing and lower frame is influence by a British Sten gun and the wired stock of a U.S. M3 Grease gun. The M48 was manufactured by Fabrica de Braco de Prata weapon factory based in Lisbon, whose initials are associated with the weapons name which it more commonly called the FBP SMG. The M48 also had a detachable bayonet lug sleeve which slipped onto the barrel to take a standard Portuguese bayonet. The FBP remained in production from 1948 to 1955. However later variants with a semi-automatic capability known as the M63 and M76 where in production from 1961 to 1980. The weapon was primarily issued to officers and NCO's and the security forces. This example is a pre-1995 deactivation with a full working action. For Non EU Sales Only. However can be re-deactivated to the current EU specification. Please email before marking purchase.
