U.S M1943 Field Pack

The M1943 field pack was developed from the camouflaged jungle pack and was initially intended for use by troops serving in tropical areas where it was difficult or impossible to find sufficient dry ground to lay out the M1928 haversack, which it was designed to replace. The M1943 field pack is marginally larger than the jungle pack and could be reduced in size to match the bulk of the contents it carried. It also came with a removable water proof liner. This example is missing its water proof liner and one of the securing buckles for the straps is broken. The top flap pocket zipper is in good working condition.
