Soviet SSh36 Helmet

A nice example of a Soviet SSh36 pattern helmet, which entered service in 1936 and remained in production to 1941. The helmet was designed by Aalksandr A.Shvaertz who's design was influenced by the German M35 helmet, which was introduced the year before. The SSh36 helmet revealed a number of design flaws, while in service resulting in the development and introduction of the SSh39 and SSh40 helmets. The SSh36 remained in Soviet service to 1943. The helmet also saw service with Republican soldiers of the Spanish civil war.
