East German M56/76 Helmet

This is the third version of the M56 helmet, which no longer has external liner rivets. The M56 helmet had its origins in WW2 where it was designed to replace the helmets worn by the military during WW2. However the design was rejected by Hitler on the grounds that the helmet being worn by the Wehrmacht was symbol of the German struggle. This example is in very good condtiion.
