U.S. Inert MKIIA1 Fragmentation Grenade & M1 Rifle Grenade Adaptor

This is a MKIIA1 fragmentation grenade, which is more commonly referred to as the "Pineapple Grenade", due to its resemblance to the said fruit. This example is a early pre-1942 manufacture as its been overpainted olive drab, with traces of the original pre-1942 yellow finish visible underneath. From Mid 1942 all newly manufactured pineapple grenades where finished in olive drab. Existing early yellow examples tended to be overpainted. The grenade comes with a 1945 dated M1 rifle grenade adaptor which allowed the grenade to be fired from an M7 grenade launcher which could be attached to the M1 Garand rifle. U.K. Sales Only.
