U.S. M4 Bayonet
The M4 bayonet was introduced in May 1944 for use with the M1 carbine. The bayonet was based on the M3 fighting knife. Later versions had a black plastic grip and was very similar in appearance to the M7 bayonet. The main difference between the M4 and 7 is the size of the muzzle ring. This example is maker marked "K.I" for Kinfolks Inc. which is one of the rarest manufacturers of the M4 bayonet and the most sort after version of the M4 By collectors, as it was the least produced M4 of any manufacturer. Kinsfolks, only produced 119,702 from October 1944 to April 1945. The total war time production from all M4 manufacturers was 2,469,956. It comes with a M8A1 scabbard which is maker marked Beckwith Manufacturing Co. The point of the scabbard has suffered with some minor damage. This is an age restricted item.
