West German Bundeswehr Splinter Camouflage Trousers
When Bundeswehr was first formed in 1955 a camouflage pattern uniform was developed, derived from the wartime splinter camouflage worn by the Wehrmacht. However this was short lived and the Bundeswehr splinter uniform was only produced from 1956 to 1957. After which it was discontinued as it was deemed, it gave Bundeswehr soldiers to much of a resemblance to soldiers of Hitlers Wehrmacht. However it continued to be issued to stocks where exhausted to training units to the early 1960's. Resulting in Bundeswehr Splinter pattern uniforms becoming extremely rare, more so than Wehrmacht Splinter uniforms and especially the trousers. This example has suffered with some damage in the form of holes and missing some fly buttons. The label is still attached and the details are partially visible. A great and rare display piece for early Cold War items.
