German M1930 Gas Mask & Canister. ( S-Maske )

This is an extremely nice example of an early M1930 gas mask which has a simple valve nose piece. However this was changed during the late 1930's because the valve would quickly soiled and the soldiers tended to hit their teeth when falling to the ground.
The canister was also modified in the form of the release catch and the canister was made slightly longer. The Wehrmacht also tended sell off the earlier examples to the civilians and where designated the S-Maske, which is the case with this example . Which is the reason this example. Hence its excellent condition It is also quite unique in the form the personal service number of the its original military owner is matching on the canister and the gas mask. Most existing examples tend to have different personal numbers on the gas mask and canister. The gas canister also retains its spare gas mask lenses in their original packet. It also retains its cleaning cloth in the base. Underneath the cloth it also has its gas mask civilian instruction manual. The canister and filter are both dated 1936 and have clear early Reichswher waffenampts which continued to be used by the Wehrmacht to the late 1930's The canister also retains its original straps.
