British R.A. Officers 40 Pattern Battle Dress Blouse

This is a Royal Artillery officers, 40 pattern battle dress blouse which has the rank of captain and the unit patch of War Office controlled Units badge on each sleeve. The War Office Controlled units badge was introduced in 1946 and was worn by all units, schools and training establishments under War Office control. The BD is in excellent condition, retaining its contractors label, which gives the size 13 and the manufacturer's name 'D.Ritter". Normally the contract label will have a date of manufacture, which this example does not. However the BD is stamped with the War Department year letter acceptance code "M" for 1944. It also retains a period cleaning tag.
