U.S. Inert MKIIA1 Fragmentation Grenade & Container

This is a pre-1942 made MKIIA1 fragmentation grenade, more commonly known as the 'Pineapple Grenade" due to its resemblance to the said fruit. From mid 1942 the MKIIA1 grenades would have been painted olive drab for camouflage purposes. The majority of early grenades where over painted. This example has traces of both its original yellow and later oliver drab over paint finish. The body of the grenade is maker marked 'AR" for Amerian Radiator Company. U.K. Sales Only.
