U.S. Inert MKIIA1 Fragmentation Grenade & Container

This is a pre-1942 made MKIIA1 fragmentation grenade, more commonly known as the "Pineapple Grenade" due to its resemblance to the said fruit. Early manufactured MKIIA1 grenades where paint yellow to mid 1942, with all grenades manufactured after 1942 where painted olive drab. However the majority of early grenades where overpainted leaving a yellow band at the top of the grenades body. This example has traces of its original yellow and post-1942 over paint finish.
