U.S. M1 Fixed Bale Helmet

This is a untouched fixed bale front seamed M1 Helmet which was in production between July 1941 to October 1943 and comes with 2nd pattern liner low pressure plastic liner introduced in late February 1942. The shell has lost its chinstraps and one of the chinstrap loops has broke off, which was common on the early M1 helmets which also suffered with fractures . The heat number on the inside of the visor is barely visible. The liner retains most of its rayon suspension straps, some of which are torn. One of the suspension straps has the original owners personal service number written upon it. The sweatband is also missing and would have been attached by press-studs.
