U.S. M1 Fixed Bale Helmet & Hawley Liner

A very nice example of a M1 fixed bale helmet, which would have been produced between July 1941 to October 1943. This example retains its original finish, webbing chinstrap with early blackened brass buckle with raised features. The helmet comes with the early 1st pattern liner, more commonly known as the Hawley liner. The outer edges of the liner have frayed otherwise it is in good condition. It is missing its sweat and neck band. However the chinstrap is still attached but split in half. The suspension straps have been stamped "Oxford & Sons Ltd". which is not the manufacturer. The primary manufacture for the first helmet liners was produced by McCord Radiator and Manufacturing Company, who also subcontracted the production of the liners to Hawley Products Company which lend to the nick name of the liners as Hawley liners. I believe Oxford & Sons was a post-war costume supplier, but i can not confirm this.
