U.S. M1 Swivel Bale Helmet & Marine Corps Helmet Cover
This is a extremely nice example of a swivel bale, front seamed M1 helmet with a stainless steel rim. The helmet would have been produced between October 1943 to November 1944 when the stainless steel rim was replaced with a manganese rim. The helmet retains its original finish and has an early brass buckle with raised features. It comes with a 1st pattern Marine Corps camouflage cover which is also in very good condition. The helmet also comes with a 2nd pattern low pressure plastic liner which is complete with all its suspension straps, neck and sweat bands including its leather chinstrap. The liner is also maker marked with a letter "F" within a shield, which identifies the manufacturer as Firestone Tire & Rubber Company.
