For sale to customers outside the European Union Only. The No4 rifle entered service with the British army in 1941 replacing the No1 MKIII ( SMLE ) rifle. It remained in service officially to 1958 when the L1A1 self-loading rifle ( SLR ) entered service. However it remained in service with cadet forces as a drill purpose rifle to the early 1980's. This example has early features such brass butt disc which is numbered 245. Which means this is the 245th weapon within the regiment or unit. The butt is also stamped with the letter "N" which indicates its a Navy issue rifle. It is in good condition and has been refurbished during its service life in 1950 by the Royal Ordnance factory Fazakerley. The For Non EU Sales Only.
