British Deactivated No5 MK1 ( Jungle Carbine )
The No5 MK1 more commonly known as the Jungle carbine was developed by the British experience in the jungles of the far east, where the need of a light accurate weapon was needed. It officially entered service in September 1944 with 20,000 being produced by the end of 1944. A total of 50,000 jungle carbines where produced making true No5's relatively rare and sort for by collectors. However a number of No4 and No3 rifles where converted by the military and the civilian market in the 1950's and 1960's. However these are easily identifiable as the rear receiver is a different shape on the No5 rifle. This example is in near mint condition and is deactivated to the current EU/UK specification. It does not cock or dry fire, however the bolt will open and close and the magazine can be removed.
