German Political Leaders Belt Buckle

This is a political leaders belt buckle which has lost most of its gilt gold finish. However traces of the gold gilt finish are still visible especially around the belt clip. It is maker marked "M4/39" which identifies the manufacturer as F.W. Assmann & Sohne.
