U.S. M1 Fixed Bale Helmet

This is an M1 Fixed bale front seamed M1 helmet which would have been produced between July 1941 to October 1943. This example is in very good condition retaining nearly all of its original finish. It comes with a third pattern high pressure plastic liner which was introduced in late 1942 and is marked with the letter "S" within a circle, which identifies the manufacturer as Seam Paper Company. The liner is also marked with the unit insignia of a four leaf clover for the 4th Army which remained in the United States during WW2. Tasked with defending the West Coast and training tactical units for combat. The helmet has a later version of the chinstrap brass buckle coated with a mildrew inhibitor which was introduced in 1944.
